INDIANA is known as the Summer State for good reason. Linked To the bottom of Lake Michigan and Chicago to the North West, it has a premier position for tourism.

State Capital Indianapolis is still known as The Crossroads of America because of its site where multiple railroads and interstates highways intersect. Many monuments, museums, parks, wide boulevards and sports venues draw hundreds of thousands of visitors. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Memorial Day is arguably the largest motor racing event in the world, as is the Children’s Museum.
The city of Columbus is famed for its modern architectural designed public buildings, schools, churches and commercial buildings.

The Ohio River Valley winds for 80 miles past many river towns with two major highways access from adjacent state of Kentucky enabling easy exploration of this river and hill country area. The port town of Madison has some of the best preserved residential and commercial buildings.

New Harmony on the eastern banks of the Wabash river was founded by the Lutheran separatist group, the Harmony Society, who developed profitable agricultural land, textiles and manufacturing. Their contribution to social issues led to the later establishment of the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C.

Bloomington is home to the Indiana University campus, famed Art Center, Tibetan Cultural Center, and many historical buildings.

Indiana Dunes on the lakeshore has one of the most diverse ecosystems on Lake Michigan. It has bogs, marshes, swamps, glacial moraines, prairies, forest, and dunes. A bird watchers dream, it has roads, biking and hiking trails for dream viewing..

South Bend is famed for the University of Notre Dame and their Fighting Irish football team, and Studebaker Motor Museum.

Shipshewana village is known for its Amish Community of farmers, with their distinctive black hats, white shirts and black suits, often still seen in horse drawn buggies. Tourists can buy furniture, dairy and baked goods and home produced quilts.

Fort Wayne has one of the finest Lincoln memorabilia in its museum – especially the Emancipation (of slaves) Proclamation.

The charm and history of this state make for a fascinating visit.
